Stroopwafles and Gouda, but not in Aruba

So we are on our 31 day trip across the US. We changed our route the last minute and drove through MI into the Upper Peninsula to Lake Superior and then headed down into Wisconsin today headed for Minneapolis. As we were driving through WI farm area we saw a sign for Wisconsin Gouda. The idea of taking it to Napa, buying some Napa valley wine and SF sourdough was appealing, so we got off the road and went to the farm. They had a large selection of gouda made there and some from the Netherlands. We tasted some and it was really good. Then we found stroopwafles. We were surprised and bought a package of two. It they come in frozen and are made in Billings, Montana(that was so surprising). They were not anywhere near as good as what they have in Aruba. You never know when you'll find a bit of Aruba.

Sorry, but no. We did get some locally made strawberry ice cream at the same place that was really good and we put that on the stroopwaffles. That was really good.

robin here is hoping that you have the time while you are on this adventure to make a "cross country usa" report in the off topic.
next spring (2019) we are thinking of taking the month of June and early July to head North to as far as canadian maritimes and then south/southwest and eventually back to florida.
