are there other islands like aruba?

okay, my wife and i need to go on 1 more international flight to get our free jetblue ticket - which we plan on using for our OCT stay in aruba. but, instead of going of aruba again (went there in Mar 09, Nov 08, Aug 08, etc..) we thought it would be a good idea to try another location. obviously i know everyone's answer will be that "there's no place like aruba" - but if you could set aside your strong bias for our "home away from home" - i would appreciate any suggestios.

we're basically looking for a place that is very similar to aruba - in particular.... waited beach service with cabanas/palapas, casinos, safe to venture out, in the caribbeans, etc....

thus far i came up with nassau bahamas....although they don't seem to have waited beach service (i don't think many places do).

if all else fails, it looks like we're just have to go back to aruba - no complaints here with that one.

Might want to check how safe Nassau is after dark. With that said, a stay at the Ocean Club on Paradise Island is a fabulous vacation.

Or, ever consider Curacao? Brand new Renaissance Resort just opened.

Antigua is the Carribean island that reminds me the most of Aruba, with its 365 white sand beaches.. lovely
There is a good Sandals resort there.

Nowhere in the Bahamas is like Aruba. Give Trinidad/Tobego a shot.

Lots of other lovely places to go, but nope, none quite like Aruba.
That must be why we all hang out on this page so much.

If you like to snorkle or dive, I would go to Bonaire. There is no night life but the food and snorkling and diving is the best. Can't wait to go back in Jan. That will be our 2 nd trip to Bonaire and 17th to Aruba.

Been to Curacao, nice but not as nice as Aruba HOWEVER, YOU CAN NOT WALK ANYWHERE AT NIGHT!! We ate at a restaurant 3 blocks from our hotel and the owner of the restaurant drove us back to the hotel. We were told by numerous people not to walk around at night.

The Royal, Playa del Carmen for amazing service. Beach butler, pool servers, swim-up bar, great food and Fifth Avenue for shopping and fun at night. Oh, and at far less cost than any islands with comparable service.
Curacao is not safe at night. Jamaica is risky during the day. Antigua has amazing beaches and Shirley Heights is great on Sunday night, but a very different look and feel from Aruba. Poverty and uneven service. Bahamas has much to offer but also has some risks and service issues.
Bermuda was nice and had great sevice, but that was years ago and I don't know about now. St. Kitts is pretty and has a potential that never seems to be fulfilled. Also, service is possibly the worst anywhere. Crime rate growing as well.
The Royal is our new, second favorite place and the Riviera Maya has much to see and do.
