toe nail injury

while in aruba, i slammed my big toe, left foot on a piece of furniture in our timeshare unit at lacabana.

the toe has been throbbing and is incredibly painful.

so, off to the podiatrist to have what is left of the toenail removed.

this is the 2nd time this has happened to me, both times in aruba, both times at lacabana, both times same toe.

i will have to start wearing steel toed work boots while in aruba

Ouch!!! I did the same thing in the Aruban. Opened the door to quick and ripped off my big toe nail.

hmmmmm... I'm beginning to see a trend here...Just how many drinks of the day did you have and was it the same drink(s) of the day last time?

I stubbed my Left Big toe while on our Honeymoon 2 years ago in Hamilton Bermuda walking up stairs in a mall . Boy, did it bleed!!! I went to the nearest Apothocary and bought a basic 1st Aid Kit, found a Men's room and did a little EMT work on myself. Then chased the pain with yards of ale

Though when I came home, I had to have the toenail completely removed, took a year to grow back!

OUCH,get better soon,to relax a trip to Aruba is in order.BUT,stay out of the room that you stub your toe in.

unfortunately, not too many adult beverages on this trip. paul and i are both dieting.

the piece of furniture was the flip out sofa bed.

both times, paul and i were setting up the sofa bed for our friend and both times my toe was in the way.

the foot doctor/podiatrist, removed a chunk of it til i cried "UNCLE".
he then messed around with it a bit more, but he valued his life and stopped.
he told me the remaining nail would come off soon.
told me to stay out of the pool for a week......ya like that is going to happen.

well sitting here just a short while ago, the remaining nail is gonzo.....came off while i was soaking it.

and speaking of soaking it.................our water is OFF
broken water main at the end of the street and the water district office tells us the neighborhood will be waterless til 8 pm
