We just love Aruba --other options though?

My husband and I are planning a July trip for his birthday and have been tossing around ideas of other islands we might like to see. But we both keep coming back to how much we love Aruba and we know we will have a good time there and we know what we like and where to go. People keep telling us to try other places but the bottom line is, we just love Aruba! This would be our 2nd trip this year. We are blessed to be able to take another trip and I would hate to go somewhere that can't compare to our first and favorite island. I figured I would share with people who have similar thoughts.

So our dilemma (which is a good one to have) is should we try to find another island just to check it out, or go with what we know and spend our short 5 night stay laying on Palm Beach, snorkeling at Baby Beach, a Jolly Pirate adventure, maybe try the trikes, and of course, eating at so many good restaurants that would require little to no planning on my part. To me, it's a no brainer.

I feel like we really only lose 1 day, the day we come home. We are early risers, so we can get to the island early afternoon and hit the ground running with a nice meal the first night and a little casino time. It would be a 6 day/5 night trip; so yea, only 4 full days is a little short. I started looking at beaches closer to home and with the holiday rates, we feel like its not really too much more to go to paradise. I am definitely going to check out that thread, thanks!

Bermuda is also a wonderful island for 5 days and is a short trip if you live on the East Coast. Aruba is great year round and Bermuda from May-October.

Aruba is the only Island we have returned to time after time. We did Jamaica 2x... and other than that we never had the urge to return to anywhere but Aruba.

we are the same.....every year we talk about trying someplace else but always end up scratching it and going to Aruba......one day I might break down and try elsewhere, but really.....why....Aruba has everything all the other islands have, plus we know and love it already !!!!

We had a good time in St Martin, staying at the Divi Little Bay. It was a nice hotel but a car was needed for any off-site excursions. Phillipsburg has an interesting shopping district and Grand Case has more restaurants than you can shake a stick at.

Aruba feels like home to us, but we still enjoy visiting other places.

I did some checking on Bermuda - the flight is short and direct from a nearby airport, and cheaper, but the difference in airfare isn't enough to off set the high hotel costs since it is peak season there.

    Thanks everyone for suggestions.

Tracey, I am reading your comments and have an observation.
It seems to me that you are fighting the inevitable. We are waiting for you, 5 days or not. As much as you love this island, the island cannot be loved unless it loves you back. In a way it kind of like people. she waits for you guys and in the final analysis it is really your call, so my advise, do what it is you are going to do anyway and stop researching second best.
