Weight Watchers/dieting/chit chat

Anybody interested in posting stories of the trials and tribulations of dieting?

DH and I began weight watchers on Friday the 13th .
We are having no difficulties thank goodness, but are having issues using all of our points allowed each day.
We dropped ourselves down a point of 2 per day.

There are a number of neighbors here that are enrolled in weight watchers and we seem good at comparing notes and helping each other.

We"re in...Lost 13 lbs in this household last week, good, but will probablly NEVER happen again.
Loving the easy to follow points, when we have leftover we usually eat those fabulous candies from Walmart. They are WW, 1.89, and only 1 point each. They come in Peppermint patty and Toffee crunch. LOVE Them !
Water is tough, can't seem to do it at all. Its either water or food, can't do both !!!
Who else is in????

paul and i cannot seem to get the water in.
i am glad that they allow all liquids to count.
i can choke down only 40 oz of water, but take in another 20oz of half caff
coffee and 20 oz low sodium V8.

the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches have helped us.

congrats to the O women on your losses.

Andrea - have you tried putting Crystal Light in it? That was the only way I could get my water in. I also love the Lipton Diet Green tea - no calories and it's very good. I've done WW twice and did very well on it. First time lost 25 lbs and second time 10. I just have problems with the maintenance part. My friends and I are doing a "Biggest Loser" type thing near where I live. Our team of 4 is competing against a bunch of other teams for a $1,000 prize. There is no way we'll win the prize as I go to Aruba (Divi AI) in the middle of it, but it's fun and incentive to lose some weight before I go and then I return to a few more weeks of it. It's a constant battle with me as I love to eat!! It's so much harder now that I'm older!! It's nice that you have Paul to do it with you. My boyfriend is trying to lose for our trip so that helps, although he doesn't have much to lose - one of those naturally skinny people!!

Hang in there!!

I'm on day 8 of a 10 day juice fast. Started it after watching the documentary Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead and consulting with my doctor. Bascially I juice vegetables and fruits for my meals and throughout the day as I feel the need. I was skeptical at first but I have lost 11lbs in the 8 days and gained a ton of energy and great internal feeling. Basically it constitutes what good ol' Jack Lalane has preached on his infomercials. LOL. I think I will be extending it past the 10 days which is perfectly fine to do as you cannot get enough fresh juice. The number one question is: What does it tast like? I can tell you that everything tastes better if you add a sweet fruit like an apple or orange. The greens have a strong taste but it hasn't been hard to drink them with the added orange or lemon. Anyways, if anyone wants more info send me a message and I'll give you the website associated with the documentary. The flick is 1 1/2hrs but well worth hearing the couple stories invovled and watching the changes in their bodies. Very exciting to be loosing weight just by drinking juice. Thats my 2 cents :O) ENJOY!

I'm in! I've been doing WW on and off since about 2003. I was down almost 80 pounds at one point. Stress and a health issues caused some of those pesky pounds (about 40) to find their way back to my thighs!

I'm not going to meetings just yet. I'm concentrating on portion control and watching what I eat. I don't have a problem drinking water, as that is all I drink. I have eliminated all artificial sweeteners from my diet. I always had a problem with the healthy diet and using a lot of artificial stuff to keep the points down (sugar, margarine, FF, NF, LF). I do use some LF and FF (half and half) items, but they are in the minority.

The other key is exercise, which is a vital element of this journey. For those that aren't into exercise, I recommend finding something you like as you are more apt to stick with it.

I haven't weighed myself yet, but the undies are feeling not so tight (my gauge to weight loss!).

Good luck everyone!

Always remember you are not on a diet, you are just learning to eat healthy. I have been doing WW for years. Have keep weight off. The one thing I continue to do everyday is write down my points. It is the best way to keep yourself on track. I have a lot of great receipes if you are interested. Keep up the good work.

Started WW 1/1/12 and have lost 8 lbs. I to have trouble with the points, sometimes I have 13 pts. left at night. I eat a lot of 0 pt things during the day and then i'm not hungry. (celery, cucumbers, tomatoes). I have no problem drinking the water sometimes I drink more. I do yoga 2 x's a week and when I can I try to walk. Hope to lose ablut 30 lbs. total. The firest week was the biggest loss but I think that is mostly water!! Will have to see what happens. Glad to see my fellow aruba friends talk about WW.
