RI DEPT OF HEALTH just posted the school clinics where all grades, public and private, will be able to get their shots. However, if not avail the schedule changes...Our date is when we are in aruba...figures !
So upside, if we can't go the kids get their shots, or if we do go, no shots...that is unless there is none avail...( which I think is the senario here in RI.... )

re: cindy ah her family and the h1n1 vaccine

my guess is that since your dd had it in late spring, all of you may have built up the antibodies to reject it.

this past summer, i worked for a short while at a summer camp.
i was there to help out the nursing staff in the infirmary.
i was exposed to all stages of the virus.
was i lucky not to have gotten it?
yup.
wondering if i have built up the immunity to fight it.

We have friends whose two daughters had confirmed H1N1 this past week. Tamiflu has worked very well for them. One is in elementary school the other in middle school, the elementary school had widespread cases. The dd in middle school was the first one to come home with it.

Dh is an elementary eduction teacher and his school has had cases as well. Most recently, in Thursday, janitors were called into a classroom to sanitize EVERYTHING possible. I cannot tell you the exact number of cases because it is not publicized.

In our own county, the schools have, according to our locals newspaper, had cases in the schools as well.

No extra precautions for us... just another flu going around like any other. To me it seems like there has been a big deal made about a non-story with the swine flu.

I guess if you have young children or are elderly it is a bit more severe and precautions maybe should be taken.

The problem is often figuring out the correct half of the stuff you read.
