I've read a number of Khoury books over the last couple years, The sign and The Sanctuary were decent. Through sheer boredom, I've been polishing off a bunch of the Clive Cussler stuff lately too. Just a word of warning, avoid the Matthew Reilly books. Most of them are barely edited rough drafts and his propensity for absurd cliffhangers and resurrections will probably have you rolling your eyes and either laughing or swearing, depending on your own personal tendencies.
Just started Clive Cussler's Crescent Dawn. Got it for free from the library for my Nook Color but they only give you 10 days to read it and it's almost 500 pages. AHH ...lots of time pressure. I wish I were reading it under a palapa
