Peg - in about 7 more months you can go to the new MGM which they are building in Springfield, will be a lot closer for you.

Peg, agree 100% with CP. During the week, not a problem with the restaurants. There are so many choices, from casual to upscale. Even on the weekend, we usually opt for an early dinner and haven't had any issues. We like Jasper White's Summer Shack, and we sit at the bar. Good place to people watch.

I’m hoping in 7 months we’ll actually see the Wynn coming to completion, which would be even closer. I would have thought Springfield would be the furthest? Mohegan is about 90 minutes from us. I’m kind of done with planes for the moment so looking for a driveable spot for our anniversary in May.

Agree, Mohegan Sun is so much nicer and easier to get to. I've noticed that the restaurants can get pretty crowded during the week, but it's usually much later in the evening. It's certainly worth a short wait for the other MJ's, Michael Jordan's

The MGM in Maryland at National Harbor is small and expensive. We don't like it, which is not necessarily a bad thing

I personally don't have high expectations for this one either, original plans were a lot larger then they downsized. I hate the city it is in too much violence, hope it will clear some of that problem away. I have to go down to that area tomorrow for an appointment will probably take some pictures.

I like Mohegan over Foxwoods I like how all the sections go in a circle so you can't get lost, just look for the season you were in :-)

I forgot about the Wynn coming near you, that will be nice. Ray says it depends which way you travel, if you go on 84 it is longer, if on pike Sprigfield would be quicker. Either way it won't be open in May and if it was you probably wouldn't get near it with everyone checking it out. Mohegan is always a fun spot. We used to stay at a very reasonable hotel that had a free shuttle back and forth, if you would like the info let me know.

Thanks Brenda, geography has never been my strong suit!! I’ve only been to Springfield once, years ago and I seem to remember it taking forever to get there. Since we’ll only stay at Mohegan for a couple of nights I was thinking of splurging on one of the Sky Tower Suites. I justify it by saying we won’t be spending money on air fare.
