Thanks everyone!!! The tournament starts today so I am kinda curious how it is going to turn out. I am hoping that 2 days worth of chum and blood in the water is going to attract the big one. We have a really good experienced crew going out Sunday so we just need the fish to cooperate.
Andrea - it really depends on what we get at. If it is a qualifying shark it comes into the boat! After weing in the shark will get staked up and divided among the crew. Hopefully we get a nice Mako or Thresher. Delish!!!!! The challenging part to this kind of fishing is getting the fish to the boat, securing it and then getting it in to the boat. It is procedural. I have been out with people who aren't experienced and just drag the fish into the boat. I don't know about you but I really don't like a couple hundred pound shark thrashing around the cockpit snapping its jaws.
