6am AA flight 981 from Dulles connecting through miami - questions

Does anyone have experience with this route? Is getting through security at Dulles going to be crazy at this hour in the morning? Do we need to show up 3 hours early???? that would be 3am? I am thinking if we get there by 4am we should be fine. Appreciate any feedback.

Also, we have a 2.5 hrs layover in Miami....and then board AA 1047 for the 2nd leg of the trip. Is this a continuation of another flight or is this an origination point for 1047.

Thanks,
De-Sheaz

You might want to call and see what time the ticket counter opens there, assuming you have bags to check. You shouldn't have that much trouble at security, there generally aren't that many flights so early in the morning.

Da-sheaz,

I often fly through Miami, arriving on early morning flights. 1047 to Aruba is typically on time, and occasionally early, rarely late. At least in my 15+ years that's been the story.

Sun Worshipper II,

Probably in Aruba mid-Feb through March. Schedule is changing constantly with book promotion duties, so I don't want to make any firm dates until I'm on-island. But generally, those days should hold out.

See you soon.
