air canada/JAZZ

although air canada does not fly to aruba,
i felt this little blurb of interest to our community forum.

AP) Air Canada's regional carrier, Jazz, is removing life vests from all of its planes to save weight and fuel.

A Jazz spokeswoman says Canadian regulations allow airlines to use floatation devices instead of life vests as long as the planes remain within 50 miles of shore.

Safety cards in the seat pockets of Jazz planes now direct passengers to use the seat cushions as floatation devices.

Jazz is a transcontinental carrier that doesn't fly over the ocean. The planes do fly over the Great Lakes and along the Eastern seaboard. But the company says all of the flights are within 50 miles from shore and the number of its flights that fly over water is minimal.

But not Jazz

as confirmed yes AC flies to Aruba from Toronto in the high season, however Air Canada Jazz doesn't.

Air Canada Jazz flies smaller planes and generally do short haul flights. Air Canada flies Toronto- Aruba (two flights) on Saturdays. There are a few other carriers that fly from Toronto and Montreal to Aruba. Those flights are on Fridays and Sundays and are run through charter companies.

As for Skyservice I'm not sure but will check them out next winter, thanks for that one.

My friends have booked Sky Service already for Xmas as their schedules come out in the summer. Check it out soon if you have your dates in mind.

Too bad about Canjet, their inargural flight was last Xmas vacation Montreal-Aruba!

Do you know with whom?
SkyService website don't give that option.
