Am considering our 10th trip to Aruba next Aug. (from Boston). Usually prefer nonstops, so have used US Airways the past three years; but now they are charging a little over $1500 for two for the end of Aug. Having checked AA for a week going Sat. - Sat., or any other 8 day combo (i.e. M-M, T-T, etc.) they are charging the same for all; the only catch is that they stop in Miami both going and coming. But since their price is $799 for two no matter what 8 day week I choose, I think I may go with them. Saving $700 does justify going with 1 stop over a nonstop.

Usually we fly USAir..have gotten flights for as low as 390. July is considered low season and flights are pretty decent around that time. You should be able to get flights for less than 400 round trip. Try USAir, unless they completely leave Pittsburgh the fairs are fairly reasonable |

Depending on what days you're planning on flying down you might want to check out Spirit. I work for another airline but we were booked solid on the days I wanted to fly so I went via Spirit. They run some great specials from time to time.

Airfare
My husband and I will be heading to aruba from August 4-15. I booked with American Airlines for the rate of $477.20 from Charlotte, NC. We arrive in Aruba at 1:55. I thought that was a pretty good price. What do you think?

We booked with American on 11/28 for round trip flights out of Boston through Miami leaving on 8/1 and returning on 8/14 for $299 each plus taxes. This was the best price I could find-it's the same as last year and we're very pleased! Now the waiting begins.

If you book directly with AA and the price drops you can call them and get a refund in the form of a travel voucher. There is also a website which you can join www.yapta.com which will track either booked or planned flights and they will email you and tell you when they drop in price. I have already managed to get a $300 travel voucher which can be used by anyone towards a future flight. Oh, I forgot to mention that there is a change fee so the fare has to drop quite a bit before it's worthwhile.
