Our departing flight left at 9 am. We were in line at 6:30, the line formed quickly and by 7 am there were over 60 people in line. There was only 1,yes 1, check in desk open. Very slow going. They also made a point of checking everyone closely thru the metal detectors. This was 20 days ago. Heed the warning, 7 is a little late.
5.30 or last hope at 6 sharp.no later would be safe
yes 7 am is VERY sufficient for the friday morning flight.
check your AA flight status tonight
sometimes the evening AA flight comes in late the night before.
if the night time flight is late by more than an hr or 2, that leaves the flight crew an insufficient SLEEP/rest period. as a result, the morning flight is delayed so the crew can get the appropriate rest.
9:15 --- I would be there at 6:45 --- beat the 7:00 rush! I think a lot of people like come at a rounded hour... or so I have noticed in the past.

Stupid question ...
Is that they only time of the morning that there is a flight departing for the U.S.
Would everyone in the line for that flight and then basically on through the queue to Aruban security, US Immigrations & Customs, US Security etc be on that sole flight bound for Miami?
If that is the case, if God forbid you were the last in line, wouldn't they wait for the last person in line??![]()
OR,
would they say, oops, the line did not move quick enough, the flight leaves at 9:15 am and "we couldn't process everyone within that time" so we are cutting off the line, shutting the door to the plane and "tough luck you are stuck in line waiting to be processed" and you are staying in Aruba?

Thanks everyone for your input
[B]YES
and
YES
Who knows.I would be surprised if anyone ever missed that particular flight due to reasons of slow immigration and customs and security processing.
It takes less than an hour from immigration to the gate.
There are maybe 200 people.
We breezed thru, effortlessly.
We have been on that early flight AA to MIA, numerous times, even when we lived in w. suburban boston. We have been AA flyers for many yrs. I am guessing that we have been on that early morning flight 20 times.
ANY flight other than that morning flight........everyone should allow about 3 hrs.
But that morning flight on AA.
My experiences are that 2 hrs for that morning AA is sufficient.
What works for me and my husband does not necessarily work for anyone else./B]
Thanks, handy info if we ever have to fly AA.
