As soon as they are granted final approval I would expect the flights to be available for purchase.

The Orlando Sentinel had a short article this a.m. flights from Atlanta will begin departing 12/19 ( a Saturday) and Orlando service is scheduled to begin in February. They have been granted FAA approval but are not yet finished with the others.

Arrow AirTran adds flights to Aruba

"AirTran adds flights to Aruba
Orlando Business Journal
Tuesday, September 15, 2009, 9:11am EDT
http://orlando.bizjournals.com/orlando/stories/2009/09/14/daily14.html

AirTran Airways is adding new service to Aruba, the airline’s fifth Caribbean destination in addition to recently announced service to Montego Bay, Jamaica and Nassau, Bahamas, and existing service to Cancun, Mexico, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Orlando-based AirTran will begin flights to Aruba from Atlanta on Dec. 19 and from Orlando on Feb. 13, 2010.

The Orlando flights depart at 10:06 a.m. and arrive in Aruba at 2:15 p.m. on Saturdays.

Return flights from Aruba depart on Saturdays at 3 p.m., arriving in Orlando at 5:13 p.m.

AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings Inc. (NYSE: AAI), has been ranked the No. 1 low-cost carrier in the Airline Quality Rating study for the past two years."

Just looked and the fares are in the system. www.airtran.com

12/19 - 12/26 ATL-AUA $659.95 (our fare on Delta was $800 but are returning on a weekday, so Air Tran wouldn't have worked for us anyway)

2/13 - 2/20 MCO- AUA $429.95

Priced 2/13 - 2/20 MIA- AUA on American $574.70

Our local consumer advocate stated on his daily radio program yesterday here in ATL, that he fully expects Air Tran to be competitive and to look for some really low introductory fares.

I have been checking the prices of Air Tran too lately and I think they are rather expensive.
