Arrow AirTran Expanding Aruba Service

Initial Air Service Schedule Updates Winter 2010-2011

"...AirTran Airways who started scheduled nonstop weekly service from Atlanta and Orlando a few months ago, has announced to be expanding service to Aruba from Saturday to Saturday and Sunday service as of this coming winter season starting in November 2010 from both gateways. AirTran services Aruba with B737 aircraft with a two seating configuration of business and economy for a total of 137 seats.

“The importance of retention of air service and the efforts to diversify remain of primary concern to us” commented Peter Steinmetz, Managing Director AAA N.V. “We are definitely proceeding with cautious optimism and very much in cooperation with our airline and tourism partners as the industry is constantly evolving. Even though demand is on the rise, unexpected events such as a volcanic eruption referred to earlier on, can affect business in the blink of an eye. We need to be able to react quickly in order to minimize the impact on our air service and demand for Aruba”. ..."
