American Airline from Boston in Jan

I just checked on the price of a flight from Boston to Aruba on Jan 7-15. For 2 people, non stop round trip; $747.60. Can't beat it. I had already booked a month earleier and got the same flight for $843. Talked to AA this morning and it would cost $100 to change it.
Hope someone can take advantage of it!

Can't wait to be back in paradise!

I have dealt with AA in the past for my Aruba trips and last year after I booked my vacation for December, I kept checking prices and sure enough, at one point the price was $430 less than what I paid. I called AA, they said nothing could be done on their end because I booked a "package" with Orbitz, and that I needed to talk with Orbitz. So, called Orbitz, and they said there was nothing they could do because it was AA who lowered the price. FORTUNATELY, whenI booked my package deal with Orbitz about 3 months prior, I had also checked the individual price of a flight with AA (not including hotel), and printed this out. So, when I called AA back and told them that I had proof of the price they were charging at the time I booked and what the present price was, she said "yes, I see there is a significant difference" and put me on hold. She came back on and said my credit card would be credited the difference ($430 minus $15 charge to change over the phone, so $415 refund). Lo and behold, within a week I had a check from AA for $415!!! So, don't let them get away with charging you the 100 bucks, just keep hassling them. I was going for New Year's and of course, like everyplace, the prices get really jacked up at that time because most people would pay almost any price to go somewhere sunny for the holidays. I stated this to AA too, then asked them that since they know this and now that their planes are almost full and they got their money, then they decide to reduce the price? I guess that was what did the trick, because I didn't have a nice tone to my voice either!! LOL

Good Luck to you and enjoy your vacation! I will be there in February to celebrate my 50th birthday (my 9th trip)!!!

Well I hope no one took "advantage" of this deal. I got an email notification on Sunday stating that AA had cancelled the direct flight and put us on a flight that went thru Miami and wouldn't get into Aruba until 9 PM. I'm really beginning to dislike AA, this is the second time, they've done thisto me!

Needless to say, I cancelled my flight with AA (no charge) and rebooked with JetBlue (non-stop on the way down and a stop in NY on the way home) and I saved $100. Looks like JetBlue will be my new airline

Can't wait to be back in paradise!

I am sorry for all of you to whom this has happened. As an outside looking in, it certainly appears that American is saying to it's customers "we don't care about you" and to Jet Blue, they are saying, "come and get our marketshare".

Go Jet Blue! American, you had your chance...

I'm sure you already know if you booked a AA reservation for a straight flight from Boston.....they have completely canceled the straight flights! I had one booked through Travelocity and AA rescheduled me with terrible connecting flights through NY. I called Travelocity to complain and they got AA to fully refund my money. I now have straight flights through Jet Blue for $200 cheaper out of Boston. Go Jet Blue!!! They have my business from now on.

We have a direct flight from Bos to aruba in April. I am hoping, and checking weekly, that this doesn't happen to us. It seems AA does this all the time !!! Thanks for keepng us posted on the situation. I didn't realize that this was happening to so many people. Please keep us posted as to all the situations occuring..

I hope that the AA schedule works out for you. They are going to lose a lot of business this way. I booked my flights six months in a advance and they changed the flight times three times in only 4 months. Finally, I got the email message from Travelocity saying that the straight flight had been cancelled. I found all of the time changes frustrating, forget about putting me on horrible connecting flights after I paid more money for a straight one. Can you feel the frustration?? Luckily it all worked out. I wish you the best....keep us posted.
