    Annoyances on Planes

We've all experienced some minor/major annoyances while flying to/from Aruba...
seat kicker, cryer, incessant talker etc....

To me, it seems that the annoyances are not so annoying on the way to Aruba....but the flight home, those annoyances
    seem to be much worse.
Undoubtedly because I am in such a bad mood at having the vacation end

    What about flight attendants?
Have you noticed that their moods and service levels are inconsistent?
Probably the moods and behaviors of the passengers sets the tone?
It is a very difficult job indeed!!
I hate to see passengers treat the flight attendants as "servants."

I find for the most part Flight Attendants are nice and professional. There are always going to be some miserable attendants but I believe they are far & few between. Just think of dealing with passengers that are annoying, screaming kids, bad working conditions that the airlines have set upon them, and for that matter The flying customers (us). You really don't get to spend time in the locations you fly to, maybe half a day or a day & then your off again. You couldn't pay me enough to deal with the people in an enclosed situation

My family and I were coming home one year and we were seating in first class and I was seating next to this guy who insisted on a drink before he was asked. The flight attendant looked at my wife and daughter and asked if they wanted a drink, the best part of this , she knew us from catching the same flight numerous times. I asked if he flew United, and said no, that he flew this other airline all the time. I told him to relax and that he'll get his drink, then he didn't like what they had to eat, I guess you can't make everyone happy.
We have sat in bulkhead seating on a 757 and had the flight attendant sit in front of us on takeoff, and after departure she came back from first class and said if there was anything we needed she would get it for us.
And just recently on our way to Denver, our daughter mentioned to the flight attendant that it was our 39 anniversary that Sat, they gave us a bottle of wine. Can't complain.

He was probably a regular Delta flyer. They always serve drinks in First Class prior to take-off while coach is still boarding. You kind of get used to things being a certain way when you typically fly with the same airline. Of course, still no excuse for any rudeness.

My husband and I both fly on a regular basis for work and are used to the same airline, same routine, same routes (can almost tell you exactly which flight times are available for certain routes and which aircrafts have the best seats in first class and coach...LOL!) We are rarely annoyed anymore and just go with the flow. Flight attendants are usually professional and have never had any issues. We did notice one "surly" flight attendant on our way back from Rome last year - we were in First Class and we probably wouldn't have noticed except that the other FA was so incredibly nice and friendly that it was like night and day between the two. LOL!

He wasn't a Delta flier, I did ask him what airline and we were still at the gate loading. Sometimes you do get a FA that is just having a bad day or whatever. I can say, we have had some great flights.

We hadn't flown much prior to 2009. One of my early flights was on American and my first thought was how rude the attendants were. I was surprised when I heard them snap at people. The next time we went Jet Blue and the experience was so different. The attendants were friendly and seemedlike they enjoyed their jobs. We have flown Jet Blue ever since. About my only annoyance has been when we've been seated near a screaming child. I know they can't help it and I should feel some empathy but I feel like I'll just jump, out of my skin if it doesn't stop. Hopefully I can say that here without backlash as even though it makes me crazy I would never say anything.

I am the annoyance on the plane.... I'm the guy that can't sit still.... I'm the guy that has to stand in the aisle.... I'm the guy that just wants to be off the plane and done with the flight....!

We were near a family with a baby that was pretty quiet, until the grandpa wanted to "help" and give the mom and grandma a break. Everytime the grandpa held the baby, he cried. I wanted to scream, just leave him alone! I think the baby's mother felt the same way. This happened a few times. I wasn't too happy when we got to the crying room and found the same family was on our flight home.

I also can't stand gum poppers. You know the people who can't chew gum without slurping, smacking, and popping? Something about that noise makes me crazy.

As for flight attendants, we had one in 11st class that would not shut up. We were on the front seats and he was in the galley area and I swear he talked for 3 hours straight...about nothing!
Not sure when, but we will be back
