The price out of BOS to AUA out of Boston Logan have been at $1900 for two for the past 2 months for mid November travel, that is for non-stop round trip. I booked it for $1354 on May 11, 2013 and I'll look for a credit in November. I noticed the web site now allows you to view open seats, if they're being honest

    Stenogal,
AndyM and Mattnewhampshire are all over this. I agree with both. This is year 7 for us and we play the JetBlue game as well. Flew every year for just under or just over $500 round trip direct out of Logan. Last year was awesome, on Sept. 22, 2012 we got home from the fake casino in Rhode Island at around 1am, checked JB website (we are maniacs about checking) saw prices dropped the final time before our trip 1st week of October. We called and sat on the phone for 2 hours, but were getting credits for 7 people in our party, but well worth it. Ended up paying $440 each round trip direct. Had first Balashi by 1:30pm. Now I track the number of seats left on the flights, helps me make educated guess as to when JB is going to lower prices. 30 days out, with roughly 30 seats left on the flight and you will start to see prices drop. Now with gas prices, taxes, aruba airport fees - jump on any direct flight out of Boston under $300 each way.
I actually carry an Excel spreadsheet in my wallet to track prices and number of seats left, twice a day starting 3 months out. Wife says I'm crazy, but this year she bought them at $873 each and now I'm chasing it down. Crazy or not, there's 3 of us traveling and where I come from $1000 back in my travel bank for next years trip is better than in the pockets of the JB shareholders. I could go on and on and on and on about all the stuff we do in prep, but the journey is the best part. Have fun!

Knowing all this, I'll wait to buy rather than buy and chase credits because I know the prices are going down. I'd rather have the money in my pocket than in JB's.

Food for thought. When the seating chart shows "seats available" that doesn't necessarily mean seats remaining, as the airline may hold seats back and not make them "available" right away. It's similar to "only three seats left at this price". Tomorrow there could be a dozen seats for a lower price.

Great point AndyM. I just like the peace of mind knowing we have seats. The other thing to note is with JB it's usually the Extra Legroom seats that are available the closer you get to your trip date. These are $55 each seat each way on top of the published price. Your other option if these are the only seats left, is to not pick seats if you don't want to pay the $110 each extra round trip. But then you risk being split up from your party. They will upgrade other passengers and give you their seats which may not be together. We travel with a 3 year old and must sit together. Although I've tried getting my own seat alone, wifey doesnt go for it.

Good luck all and have fun.

I understand your needing to sit together. We book aisle seats across from each other. Sometimes we get split up but that's OK. We walk over for visits during the flight.

After all these years, we finally found that adjoining aisle seats work best for us! I simply cannot stay put for any length of time and like to be able to just get up and stretch my legs.
