Best Day to Check In &/or Fly

Last year we flew out late Friday night to JFK from SFO (mistake) - then down to Aruba - landing around 1 pm on Saturday to check into the Surf Club. Very crowded airport & a long line at the resort.

Is there a better day to travel? If I can get the Surf club on a Friday or Sunday - are those days better?

Thanks!
Linda

YOu can now check in at the Surf Club on Thursdays, that is a far better day to travel. Saturday is the busiest, then Sunday, then Friday and Thursday is new so that is going to be the quietest day.

Tues - thurs are the cheapest days to fly and have the least crowd. You can also check in from thurs-mon for all marriott timeshares.

I should add that the expanded check in dates may be effective beginning in 2010

For 2010..... you can checkin to the Surf Club on Thurs/Fr/Sat/Sun/Mon.
The line this past Sunday May 3, 2009 was quite long in the early afternoon. So many flights arrive close together...... no worries..... relax.... your in Aruba! I think all days are becoming a little more crowded..... Saturdays being the worst.

Saturdays are the worst by a pretty wide margin.

i have only experienced flying in on fridays and saturdays....departing on friday or saturday....believe me, it does not matter which day, it is always crowded! i am sure midweek has to be the better time!

I can only go by photos of the beach and yes it does look crowded. There has to be something about the resort that makes it so special. The pool?
