Best of luck to those flying AA via Miami this week. It seems that in retaliation for the company reducing pay and planning to lay off over 1,000 pilots as part of their bankruptcy restructuring, many of the pilots are calling in sick or logging a significant increase in maintenance issues. 98 flights canceled today, compared with single digit numbers from the other major carriers.
This ain't good
Glad I am not booked thru there in the near future!
It will calm down before long. Hard to blame people that gave back 20% of their salaries four years ago to avoid bankruptcy who then lose another 20% or more as well as those that are out on the street.
They lied, cheated, and stole money from City of St.Louis and Lambert Airport. Promised many things, so the airport put in 2 new run ways, using eminent domain, and AA didn't deliver, but had an attitude to boot. They also screwd over a ton of old TWA employees.
Unfortunately, AA is the cheapest and usually the best flight to Aruba, from St.Louis.
