I'm surprised at how much they've gone up. We have always been able to get something in the $450 to $550 range for direct round trip. I checked as soon as flights opened up and have been going back on line frequently. So, not going to give up hope quite yet. Just can't give in and do a flight with stops; will keep watching.

I had a thought (being Italian this does not happen much) since what is going on in Europe with the terror attacks maybe everyone that would be going to Europe are going to the Caribbean instead and the demand has gone up. So economics from school supply and demand if demand is up you can now charge more. Just a thought. Dick.
    Next Aruba trip in

I just booked for my 2 buddies yesterday as I do for them each year. $517 out of Bdl in October, pretty good deal they were happy, American BDL - MIA - AUA. I find Tuesdays have the best prices.

Wow the mint seats on Jet blue for November thanks giving week were $1,345 each way so the difference between a regular seat $1047 versus mint $2,700. Now the regular seat is still 1,047 round trip but the mint dropped to $545 each way or $1,090. I see that 3 mint seats have been booked on that flight and when it was $1,345 each way there were no sold seats in mint.

For $1,100 round trip I would try mint!

Too bad I don't have an exchange yet for November and by the time I do either the seats will have been sold out or the prices sky high again…Unless they lower the price on the regular seats which will discourage people from booking the mint.

We're going over Thanksgiving so I had checked out Mint but it didn't work for our dates. It looks like it's only being offered on Saturdays. The other thing is the flight doesn't depart until almost 11:00 am so you arrive much later than the regular flight. So, for now I'll stop looking until we get a bit closer. For November, I usually book in May or June.

That is true the mint flight leaves on a Saturday and its the late flight. I don't mind arriving late for the experience. Most of the time that I arrived early, the room isn't ready until 4pm and the last time I waited until 5pm. I did have a chance to go food shopping but still ended up sitting in the lobby waiting.

We bought RT tickets in February, first class on American for ~$650 each. Glad we don't mind changing planes or layovers.

I never heard that Southwest is stopping flying to Aruba on August 7th. Can someone verify that information?
