Boston Jet Blue Flight Death

HI,
.. My mom was on Jet Blue From Boston to Aruba 9/11, and someone died on the plane , The man was sitting behind her, and she got up to help (she is a nurse)...But never saw his family or anything, with him..She was just curious if anyone had heard anything?, was his family in Aruba, or was he traveling by himself? ..Does anyone know what happens in a situation like this?

Norman is correct he was a retired priest from Fall River and Dartmouth Mass. He had several timeshares on the island and would come to Aruba twice a year. He travels with a couple who are friends of mine and had a history of health issues and always took a direct flight when possible. Please let your mom know that his friends and family thank her for her help and concern.

I should add that although it looked like he was travelling alone he was seated in a different class from the couple he travels with.

maybe this is an inappropriate question but i am going to take the chance and ask.
i mean no disrespect.

if a person dies on a flight........then what?
does the deceased have to remain on the plane til the plane reaches the intended destination?
or is the plane diverted to the nearest airport?

many years ago, around 1989 we were on the NORWAY cruise ship and a passenger died while at sea. there were 2 days left of the cruise. the voyage continued and the deceased was picked up by hearse and funeral director at the end of the cruise.
