Check-In

Hi

I have a question, for a flight from Aruba to the USA I can do the check-in online?

When arriving at the airport I have to do another line to register the luggage or what would be the procedure?

I am a bit confused with the issue of check-in

Hope you can help!

Thanks...

we just did this. the only difference is we do carry on. but we printed our boarding pass from the computer. when we got to the airport in aruba, the woman working there said if we had to check our luggage, we would still need to wait in line even though we had a boarding pass. but since we weren't checking luggage, the boarding pass we printed was good enough and we can go right through to the customs. so if you print your boarding pass but have to check luggage, you still have to wait in line.

Like Gaby said, if you have luggage you have to stand in line to check it in. It does not matter if you check in online beforehand. There is no separate line for luggage drop off only for those who are already checked in.

This thread http://www.aruba.com/forum/f33/us-customs-when-leaving-aruba-43590/ will tell you step by step the processes you will go through at the airport in Aruba when flying from Aruba to the United States.

http://www.airportaruba.com/images/Maps/Ground%20Floor%20MCA%20New.JPG

Procedure:
  • Check in
  • Enter the main building and go through Aruban immigration
  • Go through Security/xray checkpoint
  • Duty free shopping
  • Retrieve you luggage
  • Take your luggage and go through US Immigration
  • Place your luggage back onto the conveyor belt to be placed on the plane
  • Go through second security/xray checkpoint (see map link above)

Give yourself at least 2 hours but closer to 3 hours for departure.

Sorry, I meant American Airlines flights.

In conclusion, we must get in line anyway

Thanks!

We just flew home from Aruba on Jan. 3rd and there are now kiosks at the Aruba Airport to check-in and print boarding passes for Delta and USAir. We were on Delta. We printed our boarding passes at the kiosks. We decided to check our bags on the way home (did carry-on on the way down) and there is now a special line for "baggage drop". So after printing the boarding passes we went directly to the line for baggage drop, they tagged them and we were on our way. If you were doing carry-on only, you could have proceeded directly to the Aruba immigration line.
