I just booked a trip from 11/12-11/26. I used miles to book my return to Chicago, and it's a flight on Copa Airlines through Panama City. Dose anyone know if I will need to check-in at US Departures or International Departures? Final destination is Chicago, but I've never flown through a non-US zone before. If I depart from the International Gates, does this mean I need to clear US Customs when I arrive in Chicago?
You're going to have to check in at the Non-U.S. Departure Terminal for your flight with Copa to Panama, and you will then have to go through Customs and Immigration on arrival in Chicago. Going through the Non-U.S. Terminal is rather quick and you only have to undergo one security check.
