Delta out of Newark

Does anyone have any experience with Delta (out of Newark)? I have been partial to Jet Blue out of JFK. But the prices for Delta are very attractive right now, and since Jet Blue not released for July 2010, can't compare them?

I travel with 2 kids (6 and 4), so the snacks an drinks and stuff on JB are great, and the TV's when they work, then move to the Netbook with tv shows saved.

Travel time would be less for me to goto Newark also vs JFK.

I stay away from AA since they cancel and change flights all the time, has flight changes happened to anyone with Delta????

Thanks !
Anthony

We fly Delta out of necessity.

From what I have read here, the service will not compare.

Last trip ATL - AUA, they came through once with the beverage cart. Snack (singular) is a choice of a few items, crackers or cookies and such.
We bring our own snacks and sandwiches for the trip down. On the trip home, end up buying something at the airport and pay the $$$$$$$$$

No seat back TV, except on a very rare occassion. Like once in the past 4 years, only because it was Xmas and a larger plane. All flights have overhead movies. 99 times out of 100 the subject would not be appealing to younger kids so you would end up lugging a DVD player.

Wouldn't you have to switch planes in Atlanta?

Probably not worth the savings if traveling with the kids.

There were direct flights to Aruba. I would not do any connecting flights with the kids. Just too much of a hassle.

You answered my questions though. I will not take the chance and fly Delta. Just thought I would throw it out there.

If the rates for Jet Blue come out are inline with the other carriers (right now) then it will be fine.

Thanks !!!!

Anthony,

We fly Continental out of either Newark or Philly depending on the price each year. Same distance to both airports for us.

I am going to date myself here.. First time to aruba, we flew aruba air! (1995)
last time (march 09) we flew contential... out of newark... I am like 10-15 mins from newark, I know always the prices are better out of jfk, but really the hassel of getting to jfk, doesn't seem to make up for the price differance...
I was snooping around with contential. and some of there rates didn't looks so bad,(jan 10 320 or so a person.....) (hoping we can take a trip jan/feb 10, instead of xmas gifts!)
