Sounds perfect to me, but I'm a rebel. lol

Many of the flights I look at have 4 hr layovers in Boston or 17 hour layovers in Florida. Ugh

Both flights are with United which I have never flown at any point in my life.

Think you'd be OK (knowing you it's an early flight) and you wouldn't be the only folks on the connection...... betcha they'd hold it for you if needed.

Believe it or not a 45 minute layover is a lot of time. All you are doing is going from one gate to the next. Now if you have to use the restroom, eat, window shop and make new friends in the airport, 45 minutes will be close. I think United flights are all on the same concourse at Dulles, they used to be, so you'll have plenty of time. In Charlotte I have leisurely walked from the farthest gate in concourse E to the farthest in B in about 12 minutes. You should be fine.

Thanks to all of you for your info/help. It looks like I should have booked it yesterday as the connecting flights jumped today...patience will reward me as I will hold off a few more days and see what happens with the prices. You have made me feel better about the connections.

You have to watch that United flight every day. The price fluctuates so much and so often. It will go way up, then the next day be right back down. We take the direct Dulles to Aruba every once in a while, so it's one that I monitor regularly.

My wife's attitude is "if we can't fly out of Newark non-stop, we're not going" Most of the trips are to AUA, LAX or SAN. Lots of choices.

After all I booked direct today. Getting in prior to noon time was to good to pass up despite the considerable difference in price.

We fly out of DTW and there are no direct flights that are not charter. I would much rather fly first or business class than non-stop any day.
