    DVD player on the plane.

Been flying a long but just getting into new gadgets. Just got a portable DVD/IPOD player. Will they let me watch it on the plane? How about security? will they let it through.

    Bill,
yes you can take a dvd or ipod on board, however you have to turn it off during take off and landing. the rest of the time you can watch or listen to whatever you want.....I always take an ipod with me to make the flight go faster...plus it drowns out other noises and I can sleep..

Sure thing, the dvd player is a life saver with small kids!! Although everytime I have it in my carry on they want to search my bag and the guy said that was normal. So expect a search if you carry on a dvd player. The most juice or battery life you will get i think is 2 1/2 or 3 hours out of them. Worth every penny. I had to buy a new one b4 my trip this year since my old one isn't holding a charge any longer. $89 bucks later, new portable dvd player.

The two young teenagers, with whom I travel, use their Ipods the whole trip; except, as noted, "take-off," and "landing." I, also, have seen others using their portable DVD players rather than watch the movies in flight. Enjoy.

Yeah you can bring a DVD but like what they've said, you need to turn off any electronic device during take off and landing. Even my HTC Touch phone on Flight mode wasn't spared. I am using it for taking pictures inside the plane but I was informed I need to turn it off too flight mode or not.
