First Class and can't wait !!!

Just bought tickets for our November flight !!! Yay !!! Finally decided to skip the nonsense and buy tickets. Have been watching and waiting since we got back from last November trip. Bad thing is...now that USAir and AA have merged it seems that USAir has taken AA's prices for Aruba and added them to theirs....Used to be able to get tickets for between 480-520. Have not seen them drop below 700 since I started watching. I called USAir and asked why prices have gone up 200+ dollars and the girl I spoke with "acted" surprised. I asked her which company she came from and she said USAir. So, I asked why them seemed (to me of course) to be adopting all of AA's policies and she said they are trying to use the best of both.....my comment was that they may be trying to do that but to those of use watching from the outside it seemed we (as customers) were getting the worst part of the deal. All of the good perks about USAir are gone and all the bad things I hated about AA are in effect.....
So, since I was paying sooooooo much for a ticket I decided to go for the gusto and bought first class tickets....more than I ever would have paid but this year is Dh and my 25th anniversary so I figured we deserved to splurge a little !!!!
Either way we will be enjoying our 25th in Aruba !!!! YAY !!!

That's great news..... bad news might be that you'll never settle for less than First Class after this trip...!

Good for you!!!! I had the luxury of flying first class a few times many years ago there is nothing like it, enjoy!!!! Guess I lucked out I got a good price for November but I also booked in January. I used to pay around $700 every year flying out of bdl but did save a couple hundred this year. Happy early 25th and of course you both deserve first class.

We trrated ourselves to 1st for our anniversary trip in November too. It's so hard to go back once you've done it! We had miles for one way so I justified it to myself that it wasn't too much more for the return flight. Plus if we had to pay luggage fees we were going to need a new large suitcase so it all evened out. So happy for you getting all booked and ready!
Not sure when, but we will be back

My husband and I are Medallion members (Gold and Silver) with Delta so we almost always get bumped up for free to First Class - but, as said above, you will get spoiled...will be difficult to go back to "steerage". LOL!

    Happy Anniversary - enojy!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and good wishes.....we can't wait !!! Not that it is our first vacation or anything, but since its a special vacation it means a little more. We considered renewing our vows but decided the work involved in setting it up wasn't worth it....decided to use that money for spending instead...YAY !!!
I have status with USAir and have been upgraded to first class a few times before for our trips to Aruba and it is always wonderful....this however will be different because I KNOW I already have the seats and won't have to worry about the upgrades !!!!

I have a lot of miles with American Airlines but they don't fly direct to Aruba anymore. An upgrade costs 30K miles per person. I once used some of my American miles to purchase a pair of first class tickets. I think it was like 200K miles and $10.00 processing fee. I met the actress Salma Hayek flying back from LA to NY. I exchanged seats with her daughters Nanny so they could be in the same row together. Since then I haven't flown coach. I either buy a business class seat or fly jet blue and upgrade to more space. Love to be comfortable! Enjoy!
