    flight cost from newark

    Hi,

We are sending our parents to Aruba at the end of May for their 40th anniversary. We got a great deal on the place, but are looking at airfare. We see about 500 round trip from Newark to Aruba. Can anyone let me know if this is a good price?

    Thank you!

Sounds like a fair price, on the low side. You r about 3 months out, so I would not wait much longer.

We fly non-stop Newark to Aruba and we feel anything under $500 round trip pp including all taxes anf fees is a good price. We have a search on Kayak for the past month and have not found anything better than $489.00. But we have time and are a ways out. Good luck -what a great gift to your parents.
P.S We bought those President Lounge passes on ebay for about $15 a peice for our mother in law. What a treat to relax and fill up on snacks and free drinks before your flight.

$500 from Newark is a fair price. JFK is slightly better, but you have to weight out the convenience factor and/or car service.

I guess it is a good price for the air fare had been increasing so much. May is the beginning of low season. I have seen them go down to $375 pp at this time. I would hate to advise waiting and then they go up even higher. I paid nearly $1K for 2 tickets last July for our trip in Jan/Feb and after I paid they went down to $375pp.(from Newark) That was then and this is now. It is a game and with the mergers they r probably going to keep rising. Not sure what to say, wait or buy?

Granted, we are going out of Newark in July... but I paid $536pp yesterday...and today...SAME flight is now $637.

I would think the closer you are to trip, the less likely the price is to head in a downward direction. I would wait if it was REALLY high (almost cost prohibitive) to see if it might come down, as opposed to seeing it at a price that managable...and waiting for it to get lower...only to find it became cost prohibitive. Have yet to regret the associated cost of Aruba...never dissappointed.
