    Question Flying from Eastern US to Aruba time/zone

    I always get confused with these time zone things...

    I'm trying to decided which flight to book from Ohio (Eastern Standard time) and there are only 2 options available.

    Depart OHIO
    05:30 AM
    Arrive in Orlando, FL (MCO) 07:35 AM
    #1630 Change planes in Orlando, FL (MCO) 09:55 AM
    Arrive in Aruba, AW (AUA) 01:05 PM

    So if I'm leaving Ohio at 5:30am and flying to Orlando, I'll arrive at 7:35am, which is still in the same time zone. Leave Orlando at 9:55am and arriving in Aruba would actually be 12:05 OUR time right?

    That would make this flight roughly 2 hours and 5 minutes to Orlando and then another 2 hours and 10 minutes to Aruba. Does this sound right? For a total of 4 hours and 15 minutes.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The other option is:
    Depart OHIO
    05:35 AM
    Arrive in Baltimore/Washington, MD (BWI) 06:50 AM
    #1804 Change planes in Baltimore/Washington, MD (BWI) 09:05 AM
    Arrive in Aruba, AW (AUA) 01:40 PM
    First half of flight would be 1 hour 15 minutes. Then the second half of the flight would put us in Aruba at 12:40pm Aruba time. Correct? So that's another 3 hours and 35 minutes for a total of 4 hours 50 minutes...or almost 5 hours.
    I'm pretty sure the arrival time they give is the actual time that we will touch down in Aruba on THEIR time right? Because I really don't want to spend almost 5 hours on a plane on the second half of the trip.
    the time they give you for arrival in aruba is aruba time. Aruba doesn't have daylight savings time. sometimes we go there and it is the same time as our time here in NJ. during daylight savings time, if we go in November, they are an hour ahead of us here in NJ.
    Daylight Savings Time ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday
    November 5
    All times are in Eastern Time.
    When we turn our clocks back 1 hour, Aruba is 1 hour ahead of us in Eastern Time.
    Aruba never moves their clocks.
    Airlines ALWAYS give times at the location noted. So if a plane is arriving in Aruba at 1:40 PM that's Aruba time.
