    Good Customer Serivce from Delta

Our seats changed for our trip in a month, first time Delta customer. I never thought it was a issue as they were actually closer to front and together. I decided to check the seat map and we were actually aisle and aisle instead of 2 together. I then remembered picking our seats on the right side of our first plane as there were only 2 seats not 3, no middle for me I called Delta and they were nice enough to fix it, ends up the seat on the right next to hubby was actually free. I know it is not a huge deal if it was not changeable we were still in same row but a huge thanks to Delta rep who was very nice and put us back together. So happy I won't be stuck in middle seat like I always am, middle seat is never a fun thing. Will be in middle on second leg ATL to AUA but by then who cares we are almost in paradise

You can also change/select your seats online on Delta's website. No need to call unless you're not seeing the seats you want (exit row and most seats near the front of Delta's planes are blocked for Medallion members so they might still be open even if it doesn't look like it on the seat map.) You must be on an MD-88 or MD-90 on your first leg - those always have a 3 - 2 configuration in each row so that one side of the plane is only 2 seats per row.

We always fly Delta for their frequent flyer Medallion program. Our complaints, knock on wood, have been few and minor considering the amount of air miles we put in every year. When something did come up they were quick to take care of things. Happy everything turned out well for you.

DW and I discovered years ago that I'm the best traveling companion if we do adjoining aisles..... and it works nicely for us! Of course like anything else I ever learned... I learned it the hard way.....!

I love Delta. Wish they flew to Aruba from EWR. Flying with them again this Thursday to Minneapolis for my nephew's wedding.

I wish any other airline flew direct to Aruba from EWR but alas, we only have United.

We have no "direct" flights from Bradley (BDL) always hoping they get one.

Thanks Amy I know you always fly Delta great to hear you are always happy with them. I usually do try to change my seats before calling, (used to fly USAIR/American) however, Delta's website looked a bit different. As you stated I could not tell if the seat I was interested in was open or not so I called. We have Delta Comfort seating and on the chart it was blue and it was confusing as it states white are open. It must have been one of the seats that were being held for other members, glad the nice rep let us have it. Really looking forward to flying with Delta. Very interesting about the MD88 for first leg of flight, looks like we won't have the tv's on that plane either. I also am looking forward to a shorter second leg of the trip from ATL to AUA, usually it is a 4 hr. flight for us from Charlotte this one looks like a little under 3 hrs.

An added bonus - Delta just announced today that they will be offering FREE in-flight texting anywhere in the world on their planes as of Oct. 1. The CEO said he will never allow phone calls but texting will now be free.
