    High Fares for 2013

Wow the Fares for 2013 from Boston are almost $100 more than this year!
    What is up with that?

    I know!

Our JB tickets for January are currently @ $585 after credits. Last year we ended up @ $505 after JB credits.

I'm hoping for another JB credit or two before we're done.

We just booked our June 24-July 8 tickets on United from Newark for $540 pp including taxes and fees. We have gotten cheaper fares in the past but felt this was probably as good as it was going to get as United now has only 1 non-stop from Newark each day scheduled for next summer.

If the economy of the US, Europe or China starts growing again, you will see an increase in the price of oil. Airlines are hedging their bets to cover that possibility. They can always reduce prices if that does not happen and sales are lacking as the dates get closer.

I have been watching June 22 - June 30 EWR-AUA. $540 is about as good as it has gotten. It is about $100 more than last year and is frustrating. United still has two direct EWR - AUA flights a day from what I have seen.

I may just book it... was hoping it would drop - but I hate to see it go back up to the $700 range where it was for a while.
