I always book adjoining aisles..... it's the only way I don't make DW crazy...! About 50% of the time there is no one else in one of our rows so we end up sitting together with a seat between us... and the other folks in the other row get some extra space too.

My husband is 6'5". We used to pick exit seats and pay for the extra leg room. Now we pick our seats in advance. He takes the aisle seat. We have only had an empty seat in our row once. It is so worth it to pay a little extra. I agree with you Liz.

You mention getting a travel agent for the hotel... did you ask the travel agent about your flight request? They may have some deal with the airline that they can help you out.

Like susan.b said; exit row if possible. I have found, depending on the airline, they're not always much more. My son is 6'4" and I always try to get us exit row. And I'm a budget conscience traveler.

Hoping for a 30th anniversary trip to our favorite place.
