Jet Blue
Does anyone know if the Direct TV on Jet Blue works on flights to Aruba. I will be flying out in July out of JFK (New YorK). I heard that the TV's don't work on International Flights. I emailed JetBlue with no answer.
Traveling with 2 kids (6 and 3), will be great to not have to travel with portable DVD player. Thanks! |

The direct TV does work until you pass I would say about Florida. Then there is no reception for the remainder of the trip. I would say it is on for about 2 hours-2 1/2 hours then it goes off. (we fly from Boston). You can purchase movies for about $5 and those are available they usually have a decent choice of adult and childrens films. Have fun

I would suggest a portable DVD player or laptop-I was excited to fly Jet Blue knowing that there would be some entertainment in-flight. Unfortunatly, as posted previously, the signal goes out an hour or two into the flight. My wife and I had our laptop, so we were able to watch DVDs we brought. Having entertainment definately makes the flight go by quicker. Especially while looking at a blank screen. Whatever you decide the one common denominator is you are flying to Aruba so excitment alone can make the flight easier. Have a great time-I am jealous

No power for the Lap Top, etc. The port. DVD player worked out great for our grand son last year; he watched 2 movies!
This year, we'll bring 2 players to be sure he will be able to see 3...esp since we'll be leaving from Philly on US Air this time. |
