    Jet Blue

Does anyone know if the Direct TV on Jet Blue works on flights to Aruba. I will be flying out in July out of JFK (New YorK). I heard that the TV's don't work on International Flights. I emailed JetBlue with no answer.

Traveling with 2 kids (6 and 3), will be great to not have to travel with portable DVD player.

    Thanks!

The direct TV does work until you pass I would say about Florida. Then there is no reception for the remainder of the trip. I would say it is on for about 2 hours-2 1/2 hours then it goes off. (we fly from Boston). You can purchase movies for about $5 and those are available they usually have a decent choice of adult and childrens films. Have fun

I'd suggest purchasing a portable dvd player. The tv only works for the last hour on the return return trip.

Thanks for the tip. We are flying out late, so I'm hoping that the kids will fall asleep. On past vacations they have slept on the flights that were late.

    We will see..

    Keep the tips coming!

I would suggest a portable DVD player or laptop-I was excited to fly Jet Blue knowing that there would be some entertainment in-flight. Unfortunatly, as posted previously, the signal goes out an hour or two into the flight. My wife and I had our laptop, so we were able to watch DVDs we brought. Having entertainment definately makes the flight go by quicker. Especially while looking at a blank screen. Whatever you decide the one common denominator is you are flying to Aruba so excitment alone can make the flight easier. Have a great time-I am jealous

    Great thanks.
I do have a laptop that I will be bringing with me. But its HORRIBLE on battery life. I dont think that JetBlue has power at the seats either. But I will have to check.

No power for the Lap Top, etc. The port. DVD player worked out great for our grand son last year; he watched 2 movies!
This year, we'll bring 2 players to be sure he will be able to see 3...esp since we'll be leaving from Philly on US Air this time.
