JetBlue Emergency Landing in Aruba
Was any forum member on the flight that had to turn back and land at approx 6:00pm on Friday 6th. Curious as to what happened and if passengers were able to leave or stayed an extra night. From reports it seems an engine was shutdown and the pilot dumped the fuel.

Airbus A320s do not have the ability to dump fuel. It looks like the aircraft left Aruba on Saturday morning at 9:42 as flight 8088. I believe that would be a revenue flight with passengers on board as most airlines use 9xxx number for ferry flights.

Jet Blue Landing
My husband and I were on the flight and I think they did a good job of handling it. We really did not realize it was so serious until they had us on the ground. The landing was perfect and they did not tell us that they were dropping fuel. He did advise us that there would be emergency vehicles on the ground.
They had us off the plane within 45 minutes and bussed us to the Renaissance with small food voucher and a pickup time for the following morning. |
