My husband Wayne left from JFK today..his flight pulled out 10 minutes early at 7:18 AM and took off at 7:47, he should be landing any minute now. but I don't think that was any worse than usual. I'll be taking the same flight saturday so we'll see if it's any worse
I'll post when we return and let you know how the return was.

Thank you so much for posting that! It made me feel better!! We are leaving JFK at 8:16 am. Someone said that leaving earlier in the day was best so I'm hoping so!!! We usually fly thru Newark, but couldn't get the flight that we took last time so I book thru JFK which I was nervous about anyway!! Again, thanks for the update!

HockeyMom,
Whereever you leave , whenever you leave, just think about where you'll be going, will be a great stress relief. Have a great trip

After reading this story I'm glad that Delta changed my connecting flight from JFK to ATL!!

NEW YORK -- Federal authorities are trying to figure out why a child was allowed to direct air traffic at the John F. Kennedy International Airport. The FAA said a controller brought his child to work Feb. 17 and allowed him to talk to pilots. In audio recordings authenticated by the FAA, the youngster can be heard clearing planes for both takeoff and landing. The following is a dialogue between the child, a pilot, and an air traffic controller.
Child: “171 cleared for takeoff."
Pilot: "Clear for takeoff JetBlue 171."
Controller: "This is what you get guys when the kids are out of school."
Pilot: "Wish I could bring my kid to work.”
Both the controller and the supervisor have been suspended while authorities investigate the incident.
