    Just Booked

I can't take this cold weather. We just booked our 6th trip to Aruba. Unfortunately it is not until November but we are staying a bit longer this year. I was watching the flights and this morning at 8 am it was $1206. At 10 am it was $535. I upgraded to first and we're good to go. It seems each year we stay an additional day or two, lol. We are staying at same condo we always stay at. And I just emailed Hans to book him.

Of course I couldn't wait to put the countdown ticker on, lol.

well the first class cost the fee plus miles but who cares. I can NOT wait to go. and when I look at my ticker, it doesn't seem so bad (or am I just looking through rose colored glasses, lol). I always feel better once i've booked my next trip. although you'll be there alot sooner than us.

Nice...... As I get older, the upgrade to better seats makes more and more sense..... so we do it. Just like you, I love the feeling of having booked the trip! YAY!

I always upgrade if I can because any place I want to go to, I can never use my miles for a free trip. Might as well enjoy the trip I'm taking. this past november when we left for aruba, we were lucky enough to be on one of those planes with the sleeping pods. boy, that was a wonderful way to start a vacation. I think once you book and have that ticker going, you have something to look forward to. If I go to vegas or something like that, its only for a few days. Aruba is always longer & longer each time we go. we started at 9 days our first trip and we're now up to 18 days, lol.

We flew business class to Aruba for the first time this past November. Man, was it worth it. We always fly business/first to Europe (I have terrible jet lag) but Aruba seemed like a bit of extravagance... but between the luggage allowance, boarding first, the seats and meal, it was WELL worth the incremental cost.

We're doing it again in February!!

We usually don't book first class, but when I do online check-in if there are spare seats and they offer it to us then, we jump on it. Its so much more relaxing! I agree with everything you said Gaby. I always feel better when we have the trip booked. We are looking for the right price for spring but I keep telling my hubby if we don't find it, maybe we can do 2 weeks later in the year. We bumped up from 7 nights to 10 nights on the last trip and it makes a big difference on how relaxed we feel.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Excellent....good for you! Love your approach to cold weather therapy.

Just minutes ago I booked out 20th.....September.......next thing I did was log onto the Forum and saw your thread. A few months ago I signed both CindyO and myself for the US Airways Master Card so this trip is only costing the annual fee $89 plus $110 tax per round trip ticket....Providence to Aruba and back. yahoooooo.

As for your extending each year.....that's what we did too. First trip was 7 days, then 9, then 10, then 14, now two trips a year....9 & 14.

Enjoy First Class, we've never done it but sounds great.

Rob, you and Cindy must do first class! This is trip is your 20th? Tradition says the perfect gift is china, so upgrade to first and eat your lunch on the way down off of china instead of plastic. You will be glad you did! We have been fortunate to fly first class every trip to Aruba and I don't know if we could fly coach after being spoiled in a big seat. It is worth the money, both heading down and returning.
