    KLM today Amsterdam to Aruba

KLM flight 756 from Amsterdam developed engine trouble and arrived safely at 4:35pm on Aruba with the use of only 1 engine.

I was told that the airport was evacuated to the Price Smart parking lot (as that is what the drill instructions demand)

I have no further information other than it landed safely.

If anyone has futher information please post.

That is scary stuff. Fortunately it landed safely and hopefully no one was hurt. If it were us we would be living in Aruba because there is no way I would be able to get Tom back in a plane!

Their was a fuel leek in one engine. Other than that I can't find information and they canceled the flight to Amsterdam? It's not on the dutch news yet.

a friend who works for the EMS services here gave me further info too

the runway was foamed, airport evacuated to the price smart area.

the main road closed down from talk of the town rotary to the airport rotarty

this was a very very big deal

the 1st engine was leaking and had to be shut down
at about 10 minutes from landing the 2nd engine began to have issues

the airport has a drill every 2 years.
    glad that they practiced well!

    This sounds scary!

Maybe they should rename the airline to "Albatross"! LOL
