Looking ahead at American airlines

I was looking at Boston to Aruba for late May, early June. WOW!! Prices are up there compared to what they used to be by booking way ahead, and the new flights have horrible times departures and arrivals. Some give you only an hour to connect in Miami. Forget San Juan. Quit your kidding!! What goes with American Airlines??

Hi Janice. I have flown to Aruba 8 times using American (from Ft. Myers, FL to Miami, then to Aruba), and never had any problems. Don't worry about only having 1 hour between your connecting flight in Miami. Your next gate is very close to the one they drop you off, so you don't have far to go. It's not like having to go from one concourse to another, so it's simple. You'll even have time to grab something to eat....or maybe a beer....along the way to the next gate. Wish I was goin' with you!!!

Hi Debbie - how I wish I could agree with you. We go from Newark to Miami four times a year for over twenty years and have never had a good layover. We always land at Terminal A and have to get to Terminal D for our connection and that is a far trek. We don't have three minutes to spare. How lucky you are to land and go on to the island from the same terminal.

Not sure if you are aware that Spirit and Jetblue both fly non-stop to Aruba from Boston. Might want to check...

Prices are absolutely are very high non stop from Boston for our February trip they are at over $1,000.00 chose to stop in Miami which I dislike to do for $498.80 added about 3 1/2 hours to the trip and we are using the savings for 2 extra days also we are using yapta to track the costs of the non stop just incase it drops to a reasonable price
