    New carry on guidelines proposed

Wow, woke up this morning to a new reduced proposed size in carry-0n suitcases....looks like we might loosing 2 inches on our suitcase carry ons.

the reason this is of particular interest is Lufthansa weighed our carry ons.
They were over weight. They said 8 kilos was the limit( x2.2 = pounds)
They were full of glassware; beer mugs, polish pottery, polish crystal and wayyyyy over that weight

finally after much back and forth conversation we were granted access to get on the plane

looks like things are changing !

Anyways it went on about it be illegal to put kids in the overhead department..... especially other people's. lol
    Maybe that's why. lol

All I can say is "it's about time!" Over the years I have seen more than my share (and my husband's share as well) of "carry-on" bags that should have been checked that cause take-off delays with people trying to cram them into the overheads and then again trying to get them out. We always make sure to book seats in the first few rows so that we can get off the plane ahead of these people and not waste any time when we have a meeting to get to, etc. (or a beach to get to. LOL! )

... and Lord knows those beaches are more important than the meetings..... I think it's really comical how people try to cram stuff in the overheads! I also try to sit in one of the first few rows so I don't have to be inconvenienced by the contortions of people retrieving stuff that's too big....

Spirit airlines already charges more for a carry on & less for a check bag. I thought that was odd & worried it was the beginning of a trend...

Hopefully the luggage companies will keep up the new guidelines, we had a hard time finding the right size last year, everything we found was an inch over one way or another.
Not sure when, but we will be back
