Thanks for all the information from everyone.
Everyone has good points. But I think that I will stick with Jet Blue out of JFK for the following reasons: DirectTV with free movies to Aruba. Free Snacks (DD Coffee )Much more comfortable seats, wider, and more foot room(have spoken to a friend who is a Continetal Elite Platinum Member, that is over 75,000 miles a year, he even said that Coach seats for Continental are horrible) If price drops they will refund difference WITHOUT a re-booking charge, compared to Continental's $150 No Charge for first piece luggage (I know that I would get 1st pc free on Con. but the way they seem to change things I just don't trust them) Car service is only $10 more to JFK vs Newark. If I compare the prices I paid last year on Jet Blue, they are very similar to prices NOW. I know that you can never tell what will happen. But even if the price is the same or even a little higher Jet Blue in my mind is a better decision, especially when traveling with 2 young kids for the TV and Snacks! Oh well thanks again for all the useful information!!!! If anyone disagrees with my synopsis let me know, I know it is a personal thing, but I like to get peoples feelings! |

The Continental flight was nice down to Aruba - it was one of the upgraded entertainment systems. Fully interactive with the "inflight poker game" that keeps me entertained for hours. We are flying US Air in December - kind of dreading that. Hope to have a new iPod by then.

IMO - it's so much easier to leave from Newark. I hated having to schlep all the way from JFK to NJ. We just booked our trip for next July on Continental - we always book one way when the dates become available (sometimes it works out to be cheaper). It was Economy $169 one way for 7/1, 7/2 and 7/3.
$500 isnt bad for round trip - I've paid as much as $700 and as little as $385. Sometimes you just gotta take a gamble. (obviously, the $700 ticket was a large gamble on our part!) The preferred seating means that they're holding those seats to be sold at higher prices later on. They usually release them, so if you call up (or keep checking online) as it gets closer to your flight, you can change your seat to one of those in the front. We usually do that when we dont use our miles to upgrade to First Class. My husband likes the 5th row - just after first class since it offers the most leg room. |

Is that on all flights? It is something to think about. I like the tv's more for our kids. |

As far as I know - all flights to Aruba on Continental are on the upgraded planes with the interactive TV's. Domestic flights do not all have the upgrades yet.
We had the upgraded system on last Octobers flights to AUA and we had them this past May to EWR - LHR and DUB - EWR.
