    New Years Airfare

    Hello everyone!

I am a newbie planning my first trip to Aruba for New Years 2015/2016 and I had a few questions regarding airfare.

When do airlines release flight information to Aruba for New Years?
When is the best time to purchase tickets for this time of year?
What do you consider a good/reasonable price?
Any airline recommendations? I am able to depart out of EWR, JFK, LGA, and Boston.

    Thank you!

Hi welcome to the Aruba.com community forum

airlines will release their rates anywhere from 11 mos to 7 or 8 mos out, depending on the airline.

a good rate for that time of year out of the northeast would be about $600 r/t or less pp.

buy your ticket when you see a price that you can live with.

check out Jet Blue from Boston or JFK
check out SWA from Boston or PVD ......will be via BWI or MCO

    Or Delta?

    Or AA via Mia

    Or United via Newark Liberty

With that type of airport flexibility you should be able to do OK.

We have been down for New Year's week 5 times paid as little as $410 and as much as $990 per ticket.

Airfares for 2015/16 New Year's will start being released for most airlines at the very beginning of February 2015. Initially those prices are extremely high and will drop. I have found the April / May timeframe to be the best prices, but I have waited till October on occasion. Jet Blue releases its airfares much later than the rest of the airlines on a schedule I don't understand.

It wasn't on you airport list - but Philly has some great deals on occasion too.

As far as a sweet spot for $$ --- Anything in the $500 - $700 range is pretty attractive to me for that time of year.

    Thank you both!

Are there any websites that you used to help track the prices of these flights??

A great way to track flights is kayak.com. You can set your departure airports and exact dates, then select daily or weekly emails. This will help you to keep an eye on flights.
