i just entered in some May dates (we are not going til oct) just to see some pricing:

$512 total for the 2 of us.

    WOW

Sanford is 90 miles north east from us....it is a great option.
Sanford is about 30 miles north east of Orlando International airport

A good option for many! Brady Bear , you reading this?

If the choice is Grand Ole Oprey over Aruba, all other things being equal, that my be legal grounds for divorce in some states

Same for Colonial Williamsburg, see my post above. I will say that's a nice trip in addition to Aruba, or a budget friendly alternative, but definitely not a replacement.
We have been there countless times and have lots of family memories there, including a very nice Thanksgiving at a timeshare at Kings Mill. My grandfather loved it there. I'm not a fan of places you have to fly to, then drive another hour or 2 to get there.

I might try heading to girlfriends in Brandon, then flying out of Orlando and visa-versa if the flights are so cheap !!!
Dh is insisting that he is NOT going to Aruba this year....he, of course, says that every year (no idea why) but then when I am booking he is always hovering to make sure I am putting us in exit rows so he can stretch out.....but if he really isnt going I will make a stop-over at friends, then fly down and stop-over on way back.......hmmmmmm, good idea !!!
    ARUBA....HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Better them than Insel, at least you're guaranteed to reach Aruba at a a decent hour to still catch a good portion of the remainder of your arrival day on Aruba. And best of all, it's DIRECT!! No connecting through Curacao(where Insel seems to suffer a great majority of their delays). Fingers crossed that Suriname Airways can offer this direct service between Aruba and T&T......one can always dream.

I'm glad there is a new flight option for those in Florida (I'm trying to stay on topic here), and the price is terrific. That said, I can't believe all of the Colonial Williamsburg and Grand Ole Opry haters . Our nation started in Colonial Williamsburg (and so did I!), the history of the area is amazing and you can visit there on a budget. And if you've ever stood on stage at the Opry and imagined the incredible talent that has stood there before you, well it's a moving experience. Andrea, if you and Paul (or anyone else) were to ever visit Williamsburg, we'd love to meet you at the Trellis Bar and Grill in Merchants Square for an incredible meal and drinks Neither location can replace Aruba, but there is the rest of the world that needs exploring. Okay, you can have your thread back...
