    So, what the heck???

Happened yesterday at the QB airport?

Was it air traffic control employees having a labor dispute?
Someone messaged me and said it was in Curacao.

    Who knows?

A few of our forum members got caught up in it

I read about this yesterday on another board. People who arrived heard that there was a mini strike by air traffic controllers in Aruba, which lasted about three hours. Many passengers had to deplane on the tarmac. Some were bussed to the gates from there. Some stood in line for 1 1/2 hours trying to get through the airport. Outbound flights were delayed.

I sure do remember the "good old days" arriving and departing on the tarmac especially my first trip to Aruba 30 years ago. I should post my "going home" experience in "My Aruba Story". It wasn't funny then but 30 years later I can laugh about it.

I believe the air traffic control for Aruba is located on Curacao. One of the pilots made a remark to that effect when our flight was delayed taking off a few years ago.

I also remember the experience of walking down those long steps with that hot Aruba wind practically blowing you off your feet!

Yes, I believe that is correct. Aruba's air traffic control is located in Curacao.
