Cathi, I get the Orlando traffic! One hour can turn into many more in no time! I live in north Broward Co and my MIL lives in Lake Co--and she was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in Jan, 2016. I go to MIL to visit, to help, to take to appts, etc. a time or two a month. I also meet up with DH, working in TX M-TH every week, in Orlando for a mother visit once a month. We spend Thursday night in Orlando to avoid the traffic!

Has anyone here done the layover in Orlando? Are there already people on the plan when you board? I'm seeing a good price, but it has a plane change in Orlando. I'm just wondering if the plane will already be half full when we get there, limiting our seat choice. Any experiences?

I have no experience at all, but am thinking that Orlando-AUA is a likely a very busy leg. I'm anticipating a crowded flight from our layover in Orlando.

That's for sure. I'm just wondering if when we go to get on the plane, even with early-bird will there be mostly middle seats left from people that were on the flight coming in to Orlando. Not sure how it works, if they take everyone off the flight?

But really for $348 a person, I shouldn't be picky.

i board in orlando, we always add on the early bird.
    always in group A

my experiences being on that SWA flight is that 90% of the passengers are connecting from other places.
seems to me that most are from BWI

group A 1 - 15 is business preferred or whatever they are called.
most often there are 0 in that group.

16 thru ? are the remainder of A

tracey i think that if you purchase early bird you will be in an A or a low number B

you will get two separate boarding passes BWI to MCO and MCO to AUA
i think that you will have no worries as far as seat selections

Just lurking at SWA prices out of MCO and prices are looking good.. some prices are $99.00 one way. For round trip a little over $200.00 depending how long you are staying
