They have great non-stop flight times from BWI. We had our first experience with SW on our flight home this November. We had a little issue with boarding and I contacted them and they definitely made it right. Just another airline that I will be stalking to find the perfect Aruba deal!
Not sure when, but we will be back

Just priced SW for prospective dates in June and they were $556.70 with a change of planes in Orlando. Non-stop on Delta was $496.

The problem with Southwest in August is if it is like last year you will be able to go down with them but won't be able to come back. That's what happened to me last year we went down with them and came back Jet Blue. Southwest stops going to Aruba after the first week they told me it's the slow season. i don't know its pretty busy in August, but it is there airline.
    Next Aruba trip in

I posted on the countdown I am booked for April (T minus 100). What I did not mention is that I booked with SW. I've used them previously for US flights, but never international. I got a good fare for spring break time, $450 RT with a stop in Orlando. Not a bad deal, especially since it is leaving from Akron, Ohio a very nice, smaller airport. I priced different days departing and returning from Akron, Cleveland and Pittsburgh (you should have seen my spreadsheet). I was surprised Akron was the cheapest. One of the cities had no Saturday service. However, I was a bit disheartened to see that SW has jumped on the "extra charge" bandwagon. I always managed to check-in 24 hours prior and receive boarding group A. NOW you can purchase boarding group A???

    Google Air

Aua1989, try google airfare website it gives you cheapest flights by day of week in a graph chart for three weeks running.

Not sure paying to get on first is worth it. The whole plane gets there at the same time. I guess if you have a favorite seat, it might be worth it.

Thanks Richp, I'll try that next time. It seems pretty accurate from what my chart looked like. I wasn't as advanced as I didn't create a bar graph, just a bunch of dates and numbers.

Arubabob, my husband said the same thing. Everyone on the plane gets there at the same time (although the further back you are, the longer you wait for the unexperienced travelers to get their gear and deplane). As long as we're together, I don't care where we board. And since they don't charge for checked baggage, there isn't such a demand for overhead storage. We won't be taking stuffed carry-ons this time.
