Tamarijn in April

Hello fellow Aruba lovers!

I need some booking help from the experts here. I've been following the forum since my first trip to Aruba in 2010 and would love to spend my big upcoming birthday there this year. My birthday is April 3 and I'd really like to stay at the Tam again. I'm not particular about dates except that I want to already be on the island on my birthday and not leave until at least April 5th. Can anyone give me tips or places to look to find the best rate? I'm trying to be as frugal as possible while trying to still make this dream happen. My boyfriend and I would be leaving from Baltimore.

I know I've waited until almost the last minute, but 2011 was an incredibly difficult year. Even more reason for a trip to glorious Aruba!!

Thanks in advance!
Jenn

What online travel websites do you feel comfortable using and have used in the past?

welcome to the aruba.com community forum

check out the above link.
and it would also help for you to check out DIVI's site and contact them.
they have a USA number (maine) i will find it and get back to you.

and here is tamarijn site
http://www.tamarijnaruba.com/

being frugal is NOT a bad thing.
how about renting a timeshare for approx $120 - $200 a night ....might be a more economical way to go.

Try Orbitz - they are running a 20% off special. We've booked most of our trips through them and have always had good luck. I've often wondered if calling the Divi/Tam's reservation line and telling them Orbitz is cheaper and see what they say???

Travel prices.

Hi everyone, The last 5 years we have gotten a package for non stop air and room at Tam for 8 nights. We go late April early May. We check prices from USAirwaysvacations and CheapCaribbean. We book when we get a rate around $3500 or less. Best was in 2010 economic slump year for $3000. I could probably wait and get better price, but wait too long and you get shut out of the non stop flight out of Philly. This yer the prices have been very high until this week.
We learned there is an Air Tran nonstop out of BWI. That will give us some options. CheapCaribbean offered Air Tran non stop from BWI for Apr 21-29..8 nights..at the Tam...$3985. The Packagers..Orbitz, Expedia etc started offering Tam for $400. night. BWI flight is $423. The USAIr nonstop from PHl has been $705 and just dropped to $493. The Tam nightly rate last year on their web site was $323..but wasn't that low until April as I recall. If you go to Tam/Divi for 5 years you get to be in their Red Parrot club...the daily rate for this year for Parrots is $330 night....hang in there everyone see you in late April...and of course you don't have to open your wallet agian once you settle with the travel packagers. but bring tip money is well deservered and much appreciated by the great staff.

You mentioned the Tamarijn so I assume that's where you want to stay. They are offering 20% off right now through the online website. We just booked at the Divi for March through Orbitz . I believe the sale runs until mid-April. I think Travelocity is doing the same thing. I know you have to book by the end of January - check it out. We usually play the waiting game and somtimes it will drop even more, but this year some dates are already sold out, which I haven't seen in prior years so we went ahead it took the 20%. Good luck!

I recently booked the Divi through Expedia and they were offering 20% off for both the Tam and the Divi. Airfare was reasonable as well. In fact, this trip is costing $1000 cheaper overall than our March trip last year.

I don't know if I was spoiled or what, but I paid $2450 for two people including airfare to stay at the Tam in June 2010. The best price I'm finding now is $1684pp!!!! We have another vacation scheduled with friends in June and I just can't justify $3400 for this. I'm so sad. This was really important to me as I do not want to spend this birthday at home, I just don't know how to make it happen! I love Aruba and just can't imagine going anywhere else!

Unfortunately, like most everything else in life, prices go up.
We never really understand why, considering nothing seems any different than before, however I guess not seeing what it takes to maintain a resort or for that fact any business gets us all a little upset about the rising price of, well, everything.

Do rising prices bite the big one? You bet they do, but, that too is part of life it seems...

Has anyone gone thru the Tamarijn by calling their office in Maine? If so what kind of rate did you get if you are in the Red Parrott Club. My wife and I have stayed at the Tam over 15 times and I called the other day for March 17 - 25 and they told me the rate was $396.00 a night and just read that someone said the rate was $330.00 per night. This would save us about $500.00 by booking seperately Thanks everyone Billy
