John - yes the fares are there - they range from $199-$219 pp each way plus taxes. We just booked Christmas (Dec 29-Jan 22) for around $500 pp including taxes. WestJet must have released the flights this morning b/c we booked a late Oct / early Nov trip yesterday and booked jetBlue from Buffalo as best fare option since WestJet still showed Oct 28 as latest return flight to YYZ. I am also back on island Aug 25-Sep 1 - maybe we can try again for that beer at Moomba :-)
Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.
This is great news for many of us here. It gives us one more option.
Any idea as to departure times from Toronto? It would be nice if we could do Winnipeg - Aruba in one day through Canada, but if the flight leaves Toronto before noon, we'll stick with the Winnipeg-Chicago-Miami-Aruba route. The cost of the o/night in T.O. would make the all-Canadian routing still more expensive.
I was checking Westjet's web-site and could not find available Saturday flights
Does anyone know if this is going to be a year-round thing or seasonal? only. We're hoping to go in September 2013.
I'm just happy that there's another option for Canadian Aruba lovers like us.
ubouu - we have always done the Buffalo run as well, but when we factor in the departure (6am) and return (midnight) times, potential missed connections, the border delays, and the return process of US immigration in Aruba . . . the WestJet price now makes the price value proposition reasonable versus other Toronto departure options (AC for example). This is a really good thing we hope will open the Aruba market to more Canadians. Michael
