This afternoon Newark had delays of 15 minutes. I have waited much longer than that to take off out of Newark on an ordinary day without furloughs.

LOL, I bet Washington, D.C. does not have ANY delays!

I have that one bookmarked on my phone along with this one. http://www.fly.faa.gov/ois/ It gives a little more information, once you figure out the shorthand.

DCA was at 90 minutes when I passed through yesterday and ended up at more than two and a half hours later in the day. I have a friend that had two representatives on his flight and they actually asked why there were delays. Today, there were no delays when I passed through.

The only thing they reported here was on Monday. They said everything was going well here, and the delays seem to be in NJ and NY and that was due to weather...so I'm not sure. I really can't wait to see, on here, some experiences. This is the first time we don't have a direct flight! We fly from Houston to Charlotte then on to Aruba. We only have an hour between flights, so I hope we will be ok.

Not all departments or agencies will have to suffer furloughs. The president is picking and choosing where he would like the cuts to take place.

    Most importantly for Aruba travelers

As of March 13 there were no furloughs planned for TSA.

Itís Official: Furloughs at Customs and Border Protection Postponed
"For now, the employees will not face any reduction in hours, overtime or otherwise." That action was PRIOR to the Boston Bombings.
