I believe this might be the article you are mentioning:

Thomas Cook joined WestJet in another charter service between Canada and Aruba

Posted on 26 March 2010
Oranjestad, Aruba Airport Authority NV of (AAA) has confirmed an additional charter service during the summer from Canada to be offered by the local chapter of Thomas Cook and operated by WestJet.
The charter program will run from May 1 to October 30 between Toronto and the Caribbean island. WestJet will operate the flight with B737-700 aircraft with 136 or 800 or 166 board capabilities. The bonds are scheduled to take off Saturday at 13:20 local time in Toronto and landed in Aruba at 18:19 local time, explained Thomas Cook managers.
The Canadian market has been very important to Aruba during recent years. "Even if a market is primarily for charter season, our tour operators have proven that there are opportunities to move throughout the year," he told the local press.
"We are very pleased to receive applications for WestJet to provide additional charter service from Canada," said Peter Steinmetz, Managing Director of the AAA, "we hope that soon we will have year-round service from Toronto and are working with our tourism partners together to achieve this goal. "

How wonderfully ironic....
our usual vacation time is during late March, early April.
